Volunteering through Wandsworth Care Alliance - a new volunteer's experience

Wandsworth Care Alliance (WCA) is a charity working for the Wandsworth community and wider. Its mission is to support the voluntary sector and help the borough's residents influence how services are planned and developed. Within WCA, the Volunteering Wandsworth service is an initiative set up to support volunteer involving organisations in Wandsworth and people who want to volunteer in their local community.
During and since the pandemic, many of our volunteers have come to us through Volunteering Wandsworth. Recently WCA spoke to Deirdre, a new Learn to Love to Read volunteer who first heard about us through Volunteering Wandsworth and then applied to volunteer at one of our partner schools.
