Lunchbox Library targets the issues of holiday hunger, summer reading slide and social isolation, inviting families from local children’s centres, schools and the Wandsworth Foodbank. Running over six sessions during the summer holidays, parents and children receive a freshly-cooked healthy lunch and a recipe and ingredients for a family meal for four to take home. Toys, games, craft and books are available for families to enjoy together. After lunch the children listen to a story and then have the chance to borrow a book from our library to read during the week.
