A Headteacher at one of our partner schools says: ‘Learn to Love to Read’s support has enabled high quality reading sessions to consistently take place. You can see the impact in Year 2 already: year 2 reading results for July 2017 were up 19% from previous year (from 67% at age related or better in 2016 to 86% at age related or above for 2017). Writing also up 12% (from 63% to 75%). Phonics results have improved year on year since 2015 with a rise of 11% last year. You should know we are very happy to have the support of the Learn to Love to Read team.’

The Head of Early Years who has worked with us at two partner schools says: ‘The Learn to Love to Read scheme has a huge impact on preschool children. The children who come into our nursery having attended these sessions are leaps and bounds above their peers. They are socially more able and their love of books and progress in early reading is ahead of their classmates.’

A parent who has attended our preschool sessions with three of her children says: ‘The nursery teacher seemed surprised that my child was recognising sounds and was keen to start reading. She asked where my child had learnt this. I told her - it is simple - it is all because of Learn to Love to Read.’

A deputy head teacher explains why she supports our work: ‘Driving Learn to Love to Read is a clear passion to ensure all children regardless of background have positive, frequent, reading experiences and the necessary tools to succeed. I believe tackling reading early in a fun, supportive environment before children begin to 'fail' is crucial. This together with its support for parents is what makes this scheme so valuable.’
