Former L2L2R reading volunteer, Joey, is running the Royal Parks Half to raise money for us. Here's how she feels our volunteers help children in Wandsworth become better readers:

“I am running for Learn to Love to Read because there is no doubt that reading is essential to progress in life. I used to volunteer for this wonderful charity, doing weekly reading sessions with children at a local primary school, and it was so good to see an enjoyment of reading develop, and progress being made with the children.

I also love running and although in recent years I have not run great distances I have welcomed the opportunity to spend more time outside, building up a bit of mileage, and having the opportunity to take part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. If you’d like to donate a few pounds to Learn to Love to Read, which will contribute to their invaluable work and projects for the coming year, please head to my just giving page.”

Joey is taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 9th October to raise funds for Learn to Love to Read. We are enormously grateful for all her hard work so far. You can support Joey and our other runners by donating through Just Giving.
