We are enormously grateful to our Royal Parks Half runner, Selena, who has raised over £2,400 for Learn to Love to Read. We are in awe of both her fundraising and running efforts! Here's why she thinks donating to L2L2R is so worthwhile:

"Learn to Love to Read is an amazing charity - impacting the lives of so many young children in the Wandsworth area in particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The power of the written word is truly priceless - it has impacted my own life in so many ways. It means much to be able to support their efforts to help children develop a lifelong love for reading.

Poor reading skills in childhood often result in limited literacy as adults which in turn results in other risks and missed opportunities including a proven increased likelihood of unemployment, low wages, obesity and depression.

Your donation will help Learn to Love to Read to recruit and train volunteers (parents and others from the local community) to provide one-to-one support for children in Years 1, 2 and 3 who are struggling with learning to read."

Selena is taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 9th October to raise funds for Learn to Love to Read. You can support Selena and our other runners by donating through Just Giving.
